West Farms always had two terminals (Bronx Park/E241st, later Dyre/E241st). Trains could have been turned at Burnside, but that's a single track terminal which would have hampered capacity.Once the IND was open nearby, the Jerome Ave el didn't require any more than the Lex service(s). |
