Binghamton's 184 miles from Gananoque. If closer, then not that much.Too bad the Phoebe Snow made so many stops in New Jersey in the 50s (stopped at Newark, Brick Church, Summit, Dover and Blairstown) and more stops in PA; it would have been way faster to Binghamton than the bus. The Erie Limited in 1951 made twelve stops in between Jersey City and Binghamton, too, running at an average speed of 33 mph . . . makes Amtrak seem fast. |
