There was a block and a half section of the old Lex el that remained attached to Myrtle Ave. It carried the electrical conduits from underground to the el structure until sometime in 1952. On either 1/17/53 or 1/21/53, the Grand Ave station on the Myrtle Ave el was also closed. The NYCTA came into being on 6/15/53. perhaps, the new TA finished up the jobs and put their manholes there! |
