Greetings everyone...You are forgetting that the Green R-10s had "Composition Brake Shoes" along with a modified "J-14" relay when they recieved their mini overhaul,which caused a great deal of flat wheels.The "Grunge" GE R-10s retained their "Steel" brake shoes and operated the way they should have.The Green R-10s also had new air compressors installed as well,and these were very similar to the R-68's air compressors(which leaked like hell).Nevertheless,the Green R-10s were a big step forward toward a Graffiti Free fleet.It is truly a shame that a train of these were not saved... |
