False! He'll paste up "Media Splatters" if they say something anti-German. What I don't get though is he's completely in favor of everything Germany is into being done here in America. :-\ |

It's going to take years for the Egyptian revolution to show results, whether its negative or positiveI've been saying that all along. Where have you been? will be the question but when you make posts like these, you seem to be pushing an opinion on a revolution and a country still at a time of metamorphosis. Good job stealing my line. OTOH, you seem pretty certain that this revolution was a good thing from the get-go and are quite optimistic about it working out, and very quick to attack anyone who dared to present a viewpoint similar to mine. Spare me this nonsense and get back to me when you are ready to have a serious discussion where you don't resort to insulting everyone who disagrees with you and make points rooted in some sort of fact or personal experiences. Armchair diplomacy might be an easy job, I envy all of you sitting back home in the US who rarely travel beyond its borders, if ever for being as omniscient as you supposedly are. Some of us have to do it the hard way of getting on a plane and seeing these places for ourselves (I was in Egypt in 2009, it doesn't take very long to realize most people are just barely scraping by there), but I think we are better off for doing so. |

I lost TWO family members and countless other people i knew to the violence of the NYC Streets, my cousin Van was shot dead right in front of me(Mistaken identity he looked like the fool they was after) and the only reason im alive today is the gun jammed when it was pointed at me. My Aunt Audery Killed by her boyfreind was a down low Dope Dealer who tied her up and gave her a bad mix when she found out that he was using her apt for dealing left behind three kids one of them grew up and in a act of vengence shot and killed him when he finally caught up with him, got life for it too go figure.I grew up "barely scraping by" (i knew the meaning of hunger and wearing clothes down to the bone with holes in them) as a lot of folks did and STILL do. I grew up around dope dealers, crooked cops(There was nobody to watch my back when i had to walk through gang controlled areas to get to school) gangs and death, somebody seemed to get shot everyday almost which makes it even sadder because it wasnt over hate or opression it was my own kind doing this. You know what? The word "fear" isnt even in my volcabulary(maybe its in yours) my folks did a effing great job in helping us get out of that rut and seeing what we all became today. So please dont act like you are all in this and folks over here dont have a clue or a understanding we got our own problems as well. The world been this way for a long time sadly where you been? Ghettos are the same all over the world, I been to a lot of them.. Realtalk.... |

I know your story, you've posted it before and I'm not going to pretend for a moment that I can relate to your experiences. But the bad neighborhoods of other countries aren't necessarily like the bad neighborhoods of the US. I don't know where you've traveled, but the worst neighborhoods in Israel are far safer than the places you've described in your own post. As for ClearAspect's accusation that I can't relate to the Egyptians' plight, it isn't like I've never walked through Islamic Cairo or dealt with the self appointed tour guides, bathroom attendants, and other "salespeople" at every tourist site in Cairo and Luxor that I visited, who set up shop at the entrance to the public, FREE bathroom and collect money for entry and distribute TP. Based on the content of his posts over the years, it sounds like he never leaves New York City and knows nothing about what life in places such as DC and Jerusalem is actually like. There are a lot of supposed know-it-alls on this message board, but the truth of the matter is many people pontificate about topics they know little or nothing about and don't back down when they don't have a clue. I don't mind calling those people out when I DO have a clue. (I'm also going to admit when I don't have a clue, see the first paragraph of this post.) Make sense? |

Niether can i relate to yours. I wasnt about i compare them, there are bad things happening all over not just where you live that was my point. On that fact But the bad neighborhoods of other countries aren't necessarily like the bad neighborhoods of the US. I don't know where you've traveled, but the worst neighborhoods in Israel are far safer than the places you've described in your own post. If you havent been to them how do you know? Again im not comparing anything now. Just letting you know of this fact thats all. As for Clear Aspect hey who knows i cant comment on that situation just mine. |

Not in this detail i havent so no you dont know my story...Frankly, I'm not terribly interested in knowing every last detail about your life, and I doubt you want to share every last detail anyway. That being said, you've alluded to the stories in such a way that I've heard enough and I've already conceded to you I can't relate. What more do you want? Niether can i relate to yours. I wasnt about i compare them, there are bad things happening all over not just where you live that was my point. I haven't denied that bad things take place everywhere, and I'm glad you aren't trying to claim expertise in a situation where you lack knowledge. I commend you for it, I wish others here would follow your example. If you havent been to them how do you know? I have passed through some of them, and while it might not be the same as living there, the sorts of things I have to worry about happening in Israel's roughest neighborhoods are child's play to what goes on in the States, with the possible exception of winding up in the Arab villages and meeting the wrong person, but it is hard to wind up there accidentally. |

That being said, you've alluded to the stories in such a way that I've heard enough and I've already conceded to you I can't relate. What more do you want?Never said you do nor do i care either. Actually it was just a point that had to be made and i keep it moving im sure you can understand that right? I haven't denied that bad things take place everywhere, and I'm glad you aren't trying to claim expertise in a situation where you lack knowledge. I commend you for it, I wish others here would follow your example. Never said you didnt either, it was just part of my point thats all. People should follow thier own examples,(posititve of course) not others if you ask me... As in what getting shot, killed, kidnapped and or tortured?? Still a sad way of life in general very sad... |

As in what getting shot, killed, kidnapped and or tortured??In the Arab villages, if one is unlucky enough, yes. But as I said, it is extremely rare and hard to find oneself in that situation without trying hard to get there. Definitely the exception and not the rule. |
