I was really surprised at how the USA dominated possession in the 1st half yet England were clearly at an advantage. In the 2nd half England dominated possession and were just better all the way around. Altidore easily could have scored on that one run, but other than that it was poor finishing by England that cost them the match.

Even if one doesn't care for the sport they should get behind the US National Team at World Cup time. It's about national honor.
As of today, an English person can brag all they want about how "great" their football is but we can still shove in their face the fact that haven't beat us in two tries at the WC to shut them the fuck up.

SMAZ was right that US-England would end in a tie. I'm sure the US didn't play as well as he wanted them to.

We came alive in the last 5 minutes. England made a lot of goal attempts, failed, and that had to psyche them out a little.

Our defense held up better than I expected. I thought that Bradley would have started Buddle (or Gomez) instead of the useless Findley.
I was glad to see Gooch go 90 minutes.

I didn't put it in my prediction, but I was anticipating that Howard would be our saviour and the England goalie would be their demise (though I thought that David James would start in G for them, he's garbage too).

I hope we can kick Slovenia and Algeria's ass next. I hope he plays Buddle up front and Jose Torres in place of Ricardo Clark. Slovenia's defense is much better than England's but they don't have much of an offense.

I wonder what Fytton, Deaks and KGT think.

Soccer is a blight on the athletic landscape and makes no sense. It has no redeeming qualities or any intrinsic which means innate value. Soccer has no place in modern society. Someone, never mind who, recently stated the reason the Pilgrims came to America, beyond religious persecution, was to get away from soccer and be able to watch basketball and football even though, to my knowledge, football was not around back then. Anyway, the Basketball Hall of Fame is in Massachussetts for exactly that reason.

The US Soccer HoF shouldn't be in Oneonta, NY. Where the hell is that anyway? They should move it near Red Bull Arena. Newark is the birthplace of US soccer and NJ in general is it's heart.

On a similiar note, the International Boxing Hall of Fame is also in some obscure Upstate village. It should be either in Manhattan or in Philly.
