Actually, I take back what I said about Suffolk too, I am thinking of the four post offices in the surrounding towns to me, and one of them, in a Downtown, only has street parking, no parking lot (although there is a municipal lot a block away for Downtown parking. The post office was built in the 1910's, so to answer Easy's question, "that" is probably what they were thinking....cars weren't a real issue back then, and that is probably true of some other "suburban" post offices we have in Nassau and Suffolk without parking. |

Which ones do you consider old-fashioned? I consider old-fashioned to be like cigarette machines, which I'm guessing you're too young to remember. The ones where you have a handle and pull the handle below your selection. For the last 15 years I've used the ones kind of like a candy machine where you enter "C", "1" and then the quantity. Those have been getting replaced by fully digital ones that accept only credit cards. |

True, but sometimes the postal boundaries don't match up with the political boundaries. To wit zip code 90248, which according to USPS is Gardena, but most of it is located in the city of Los Angeles (the so-called Harbor Gateway strip). Same thing happens where I live, where 3 cities (Hollywood, Miramar and Pembroke Pines) share a zip code. The default goes to Hollywood, since it is the oldest of the 3 (Miramar incorporated 1956, Pembroke Pines in 1960, making it the only city I've ever lived in that was younger than I am). |

Yeah for the post office I can see that. Carson is only 40 years old and has historically been considered "Long Beach" as far as the post office is concerned. But it shouldn't be considered Long Beach by google maps. |
