Pallywood: faked photos fabricated against Israelby: Fiamma Nirenstein Updated: 20 Nov 2012 10:49At times it’s 3D footage, like the story of Mohammed Al Dura, or Jenin’s. Some other time it is just a picture of a little girl with dermatitis whose pitiful image is spread and described (“according to Palestinians sources”) as a poor thing affected by “white phosphorous” that Israelis apparently spread on children.
Welcome to Pallywood. So let’s get good seats and enjoy the show, as with the current war Pallywood resumed its usual performance. With all due respect for real wounded and dead, and I am really sorry for the newborn lost by a BBC cameraman in Gaza, there is again a parallel war going on, albeit not less important. Pallywood (Palestinian Hollywood) fabricates media hoaxes by having its own civil population play the victims in order to de-legitimize Israel. The ongoing war has already been manipulated by International media; its origin in their headlines arises from the gratuitous Israeli decision to eliminate Ahmad Jabari, Hamas military commander.
Hence the rocket barrage and its relative escalation. However, as everyone who has followed the events knows, his targeted elimination only ensued after the South of Israel had become the target of a constant and relentless rocket barrage fired from Gaza. Against all possible evidence Palestinians, supported by the usual NGOs (funded incidentally by us, unaware citizens, as shown by the latest report on anti-Israel NGOs public funding by Giovanni Quer, published by the Federation of Italy – Israel Associations) now support the theory that it is Israel who attacks civilians, not Hamas.
The best way to corroborate such theory is though doctored pictures: Tablet Magazine’s Adam Chandler exposed an image of a grieving father holding his dead child, who purportedly died under Israeli fire. That picture is unfortunately real, except it refers to an incident that happened in Syria. Another documented attack on Israel was shown by BBC three days ago: their footage shows a man wearing a beige jacket and a T-shirt lying on the ground and being carried away at 2:11. Except at 2:44, he appears walking on his own. Miraculous resurrections had their prime time in the clip filmed by a drone in Jenin in 2002: the city that gave birth to so many terror attacks was under siege, which eventually resulted in 52 Palestinian and some forty Israeli deaths. A full-scale battle.
Palestinian propaganda claimed a thousand of deaths, a massacre “like Srebrenica”, said UN envoy Terje Larse. Myselfa reporter on site, didn’t buy it, it wasn’t mandatory to trust Palestinian sources only, I thought as any other journalist could have thought, and I could find my own. After the “massacre”, a funeral was carrying a corpse over a stretcher, covered by a green shroud. But the stretcher kept swaying to the point that he jumped off it. A walking dead.
Pallywood is full of imagination. There is a Palestinian little girl who “washes away her brother’s blood”, but it turns out it to be the cleaning of a cows slaughterhouse in Ramallah; there’s the scene of a father, who, according to a palestinian envoy to the UN, Khullood Badawi, is carrying the corpse of her murdered little girl to the cemetery, but actually here we are in Iraq; there is a little girl, Asil Ara’ra, shot dead, but it’s a picture taken in Yemen, Israel has got nothing to do with it; there is a poor little thing who draws with a pencil tied on a stump in a hospital, but that was taken in a hospital in Oakland … the purported atrocities perpetrated to children took root since 2002,in full swing Intifada, when French television Charles Enderlin, without having been on site and using filmed footage by his palestinian cameraman, made Mohammed Al Dura the world wide paradigm of Israeli cruelty. A little boy who died in his father hands targeted by the fire of wicked soldiers. German, French, and US studies and films showed that Mohammed could even be alive, and there is no proof anyway that he was murdered by Israelis.
Hezbollywood significantly supported Pallywood: we still remember the ambulance with a perfectly round hole in its roof during the Lebanon war (2006), but it wasn’t a cannonhole—simply a purposely made stunt; family pictures moved from one corner to the other of smoking ruins, along with the same toys photographed over and over again. And what about the black smoke of explosions in Beirut, all made up, reason why a Reuters photograph was laid off? Did we learn a lesson from it? Will we go on writing “according to Palestinian sources we learn that…”?
