The elephant in the room WRT the situation in Israel is this: What happens when the other side (the Palestinians) promptly elect leaders who are Israel's enemy?

Not a desirable outcome, but that's democracy. You don't always end up dealing with the leaders you'd want...therein lies a quandary, no?
