Posted by Mitch45 on Mon Jun 10 17:30:48 2024 Why the hell do Arabs think that Jews want to take over the Temple Mount? If Israel wanted to re-establish some kind of Temple up there, they would have brought in the bulldozers and knocked down the mosques that are up there when they captured East Jerusalem in 1967. Believe me, if the situation was reversed and the Arabs captured the Temple Mount with the Temple still on it, they’d have demolished it immediately. Arabs have no respect for any religion but Islam. Moshe Dayan returned control of the Temple Mount to the Waqf for two reasons. (1) There’s no Temple up there and nobody is proposing building one, so it wasn’t worth riling up a bunch of bloodthirsty monsters over a couple of old buildings. (2) Many Religious Jews believe that Jews are not allowed on the Temple Mount. Judaism maintains that the Temple Mount retains the holiness it obtained when the Temples stood and therefore Jews are not allowed to walk up there, lest they walk in areas that were reserved for the priests and Levites. I personally believe that Jews should not go on the Temple Mount. The Arabs can keep the Temple Mount. God will ultimately decide what becomes of it. But if they use it to thrown stones, their asses will be kicked.

It should also be pointed out that much of the Jewish quarter was destroyed under Jordanian occupation between 1948 and 1967, including the Hurva synagogue.

And Mitch - your description of the Halachic (Jewish religious law) issues is incorrect - the issues are ritual impurity, and the rules are quite complex. A proper explanation would take longer than I have time for, but suffice it to say that there'd be ways to allow Jewish ascent to most or even all of the Temple Mount had there been a desire by Israel's leadership to do so in 1967. So considering this, how badly they let the place go before the 1950's, how they currently have no problem playing soccer up there and other things, use it as a weapons storage depot, and only G-d knows how many tunnels they built up there (I am pretty sure they've been doing this based upon my own intel), I don't see why it should have any arab rule. It's not legit.
