Posted by subfan on Thu Nov 2 05:03:00 2023 A serious question to both of you:You follow a belief system that calls Whites "Devils" and believes that they are inherently evil. You also claim that Blacks have been victims historically of unjustified racism purely on account of their skin color, with various groups attributing certain negative characteristics as inherent to Blacks to justify such racism. I have no problem agreeing with you that anti-Black racism is wrong and morally abhorrent - but how can you claim that you oppose racism and then turn around and do the exact same thing in reverse by claiming that all Whites are inherently evil "Devils" simply based on their color? As most here know, I am Jewish - and a fundamental precept of Judaism is Man's free choice. We believe that no individual is inherently good or evil - each individual has agency, and is to be judged by his (or her) own acts alone. I may be biased, but to me, that seems a much more logical approach - else, you are no better than the Ku Klux Klan - you're just on the other side, fighting for Black supremacy instead of White supremacy. Your upfront opinion on Salaam is exactly what mine is. We railfanned together twice, took a trip to see some old railroad cars, and broke bread together. My guess is that he is just reacting to people he believes are goading him with anger and hatred. I would be the most surprised dude in the world if that was what he thought of me, and I insist that the friendly man I know is what I have seen of him, the guy who sent me a number of fan trips he filmed, especially the ones of the #7 Train that traversed some of the stops very close to where I was raised in Southern Queens way back when. I like the guy a lot and owe him a call. I did call but no one was home. |
