But the origin of this thread was how people have fared in the last two years. I posted some S&P 500 stats. The S&P 500 has done OK over a two year period ending now. |

Depending on one’s situation that could be a wash, but we’re just getting into the actual recession. All signs point to things getting worse before they get better. |

So 9% over 2 years - well those are the breaks. The only investment opportunity that offered a consistent rate of return higher than that available from a money market fund was Madoff Investments. |
