It works both ways. The Republicans want these babies to be born but rant against welfare programs. If Georgia wasn't so conservative in the 80's, crime would not be so high in Atlanta. I'd say the reason Georgia is swinging blue in recent elections is that state did not have welfare funded abortions. One of the unintended consequences is this hurts Republicans in elections in that state. All the GOP is doing is fighting for babies to be born who will vote against them.

The reason for improved Democratic votes in Georgia is purely demographic. Georgia is more urban than the other Southern states, it has a large black population, and few Cubans.

They are well-known for voting Republican and the reason the Hispanic vote in Florida is so Republican. My point is, if Georgia had welfare-funded abortion, it would mean more abortions on low-income, out-of-wedlock births, thus future Democrat voters. These narrow margins are the result of too few abortions. Atlanta crime as well. Queens NY is safer than Fulton County.

Ok. Take any high crime area and look it up to see if it's Democrat or Republican. Just like mobsters have admirers, people see urban street criminals as victims of the system and vote for Democrat. Especially the females born in these communities. They don't commit felonies but they're at the forefront of Democrat activism.
