Do you know the difference between disinformation and misinformation? |
|
Posted by Brooklynbus on Tue Feb 1 20:56:09 2022 Disinformation are lies masquerading as the truth, often by major media, large corporations, and the government. Misinformation is the truth that the above would rather you not know from people such as Joe Rogan and alternative media, sometimes labeled as conspiracy theories or lies. The hypocritical left insists that Joe Rogan provide both sides of the story to be fair, but they give Lester Holt, a representative of the major media, the Edward R. Murrow Award for saying the media has no obligation to present both sides of a story, but can advocate one side and still label it "news." Why can't we just have the truth? |

Because both sides are NOT the truth. There are basic facts, such as Biden legitimately won the 2020 election, Al Qaeda did 9/11, Lee Harvey Oswald shot Kennedy, the Earth is billions of years old, 6 million Jews died in the Holocaust, etc. Do you think we need to present both sides of those? |

Why can't we just have the truth?Okay: The left wants to abolish family, private property, religion and borders, which normal people don't want; so the left has to lie about everything. This plethora of lies destroyed the USSR, BTW. |

No, because neither side should be presented. Here's the news: Biden was inaugurated in 2021. . .here's the official vote count from the 2020 election. . .here is the variety of reactions we have become aware of, without our implying one is better than the other. Unfortunately, that's not good for ratings or filling in 24/7 news time, but everything after that is propaganda and/or entertainment. How is a news reporter supposed to know for sure that the 2020 election was either legitimate or illegitimate? Did they personally monitor the counting process? Similarly, I don't see how a single news agency could ever be in a position to confirm any of the other examples you mention. Not that your assertions are false, but the media doesn't have a monopoly on the truth and shouldn't pretend it does. That's why YT and similar platforms have become better for news than legacy media outlets. They're not obligated to fill 24 hours of screen time or answer to extremely powerful corporations. You can (if you dare) move quickly between opposing viewpoints or search for your own "most unbiased" source and get a broader sense of what people are saying about an issue and make your own decisions. |

There are always more than one side to a story. You can’t even say with absolute certainty that Oswald shot Kennedy. I recently saw another documentary that puts what you say to doubt. Right after the shooting, a cop went into the school book depository along with the manager of the facility to look for whoever shot the bullet from the sixth floor. On their way up they encountered Oswald eating lunch on the fourth floor in the cafeteria and the manager told the cop oh he just works here when the cop asked him who he was. When they got to the sixth floor they found no one, and when they went back down, Oswald had already fled after he realized they were looking for him. Now obviously he knew something and was somehow involved. But I ask you does it make any sense if he shot Kennedy, that he would just walk down two flights to have lunch and not immediately leave the building? As far as the Holocaust, yes six million Jews were killed, but that is also not the complete story. Many don’t realize that gays and gypsies were also Hitler’s targets but of course in much smaller numbers. The other two events you speak of are also not that cut and dry. Questions still remain about the election and why isn’t it okay to talk about it? It was okay when Al Gore could question the outcome of the election he lost. And many questions also remain regarding 9-11. Why did tower 7 fall? It had to be a controlled demolition. Isn’t it an amazing coincidence that Larry Silverstein took out terrorism insurance when he purchased the buildings three weeks earlier? What did he know? Nothing is cut and dry and there are always questions how accurately news is being reported. Every news story I was personally involved in was not reported accurately, so I can only imagine how much of what we hear is the absolute truth. |

My father realized what you are saying sixty years ago when I was a kid. Not only did he read most of the daily newspapers, and listen to the news on the radio, he made frequent trips to the library to read other sources so he could be informed. He would usually go to the New Republic and Christian Science Monitor, although we weren’t even Christian. Also, Scientific American and Natural Geographic. He didn’t care much for TV news although it was much better than than it is now. I would ask him why he would go to so many sources and his response was the New York Times doesn’t tell you everything. Yet today there are still those who think all you need are the Times, the Washington Post and CNN and you are all set. |

That is called “both-sidesism” and should not be the basis of news. |

I can say with absolute certainty that Oswald shot Kennedy. I can’t say with absolute certainty that he didn’t conspire with anyone, but the only explanation is that those shots were fired from the 6th floor, by Oswald. It actually makes perfect sense to “hide in plain sight.” Everyone is suspicious of a guy trying to flee the scene of a crime. Not really the point that I was making about the Holocaust. Of course Jews weren’t the only victims, I was just pointing out that the counter-argument, Holocaust denialism, does not deserve “equal time.” There are no questions remaining about the election, other than the level of criminality, if any, of Trump and his cronies and who else was involved in the attempted steal. Al Gore properly sued for a recount and argued it should be done. Trump did the same thing and it was well within his rights to do so. But he objectively lost. The Florida 2000 margin was significantly smaller than anything in 2020. And even then, Gore conceded when he lost in the Courts. There is no question that Al Qaeda did 9/11 and government officials had no foreknowledge. He took out “terrorism insurance” because everyone who owns billion dollar buildings does so and he did so for buildings that had already been targeted by terrorists and were known terrorist targets. Tower 7 was not a controlled demolition. |

The issue is that there are those who cut and paste the headlines of the NYTimes and maybe first paragraph. If you sit down with the real article, it always debunks itself by the middle/end. The WSJ book review is 1000000x better anyway. |

If what you say about Oswald is true, why did he flee as soon as he saw the police? Why didn't he just remain seated if that would arouse the least suspicion? You can't have it both ways.Holocaust denialism does not deserve equal time, but at the same time those who deny it should not be censored either. They need to be heard so they can be exposed for the liars they are. There are many questions that still remain regarding the 2016 election, one is that Pennsylvania acted illegally according to its own constitution by counting absentee ballots that were illegally sent out. The Constitution needed to be changed first fir those votes to be legally counted and it wasn't. The Constitution only allows absentee ballots for those who have a legitimate reason why they cannot make it to the polls. Some may have had foreknowledge of 9-11, other than Al Qadda. What is your explanation why Tower 7 fell? |

The court told the state to hold those ballots separately. It was determined that Biden easily won the state even if those ballots were ignored. Don't forget that many of those ballots held Trump votes, so disregarding them had very little effect on the outcome. |

Serious questions that have been raised have all been answered. They weren’t dismissed on technicalities. A technicality would be something like not signing the complaint or something. The Court cases were all dismissed for lack of evidence, lack of sufficient particularity, or lack of standing. You can consider that last one a “technicality,” but plenty of cases were filed by those with standing and they were almost all dismissed anyway. You can’t just frivolously ask questions and expect answers. It was certainly the most secure election. Thanks to Trump stoking the “election fraud” fire even before the election it was far more transparent than prior elections. |

How should I know what his thoughts were? And I can certainly have it both ways. The fact that he was in the lunchroom (if that’s a fact) doesn’t mean anything one way or another, but it is an interesting fact. No, they should be censored. Not by the government, but private enterprises don’t have to give them a platform and what they do is usually not newsworthy. In Pennsylvania they had a court order regarding segregating ballots that arrived before the original deadline and after it but before the allegedly illegally extended deadline. They counted the ballots both ways and found it did not affect the outcome. Assuming that the statue is unconstitutional, the proper time to sue would have been after its enactment, and not after the election. Courts have long held that a voter who casts a ballot using a method that is purported to be valid and later overturned would still have his vote count because it would be too late to cure. I’m not an engineer, it’s not my explanation. Tower 7 fell because it was on fire for 8 hours. |

I don’t understand where these people are getting that the caravan is not being covered. Do they not read past page A1? Do they assume that it’s not covered if it’s not mentioned on a prime time OPINION show on a news channel? Of do they only notice it’s covered if it’s mentioned every 15 minutes on the cable news channels?I would argue though that the caravan is international news and less important. It deserves the same amount of coverage as we got of the yellow vest protests in France or of Boris Johnson violating COVID protocols. |

I see a formula in a lot of articles. Paragraph 3 makes the headline less accurate. Somewhere in the middle to middle end is the important stuff that doesn't really agree with the premise. And even if the article doesn't have that issue, the last paragraph is almost always a giant GATCHA! I like print newspaper, easier to skim through it all without losing my place. Scrolling through 900 ads staring a screen is designed....just for the first paragraph of misinformation. |

They only issued the absentee ballots about a week or two before the election, so how do you expect a lawsuit to go through courts before the election? As far as Tower 7, a fire for 8 hours is not enough to cause it to fall. I heard a few years ago, I think it was in Brazil, that a skyscraper there was on fire for 30 hours and still did not fall. Why would this one fall and why was there a fire for 8 hours and was anyone trying to put it out? I saw a 9-11 documentary today that said there was an oil spill in the basement, but nothing was elaborated. I just find it unusual that if everything was kosher as you believe, why has there been so little talk about Tower 7 and why it fell. I also heard once that there were some very sensitive documents in its basement that were destroyed that could have provided a motive for demolition. Some engineers believe that none of the towers should have fallen by themselves or if they would have fallen on their own, they would have fallen differently. All this means, is that no theory is final which is why we need to hear all theories so people can make up their own minds and not selected as the absolute truth for everyone to believe. |

Why is that illegal? Was there a law that absentee ballots could not be issued that close to the election? The statute was enacted in 2019, so the case was ripe back then. Statutes are presumptively constitutional. The example of the Brazilian skyscraper is irrelevant because not all building nor all fires are alike. You know full well that the FDNY abandoned any efforts at fighting the fires in tower 7 as futile. LOL at the rest of your tower 7 claims. No, we do not have to hear all of the “theories.” It’s just a huge waste of time to listen to these conspiracy theories. |

Maybe because you are wasting your time reading and watching conspiracy theories about tower 7 instead of looking at things like the NIST and FEMA reports and sources based on that. Why on Earth should more time be spent on tower 7? If you have the answer, what is there to debate? |

Very little is ever said about Tower 7 which makes me suspicious.Um, there's your problem in a nutshell. No one died in 7 WTC. Therefore incredibly less newsworthy. But it still got coverage - just not anywhere near what 1/2 WTC got. |

But it still was a major irregularity whether it had any outcome on the election or not.Not at all. The disputed ballots were counted separately. The margin they gave Biden was way less than Biden's overall margin in PA. I doubt it if every other allegation was investigated, because there were dozens or perhaps hundreds? Every allegation that was brought to a court by a Trump lawyer was heard. The judge would have said to Trump's |

Falling debris from the North Tower struck Tower 7, and sheared away much of the south side of the building. After the collapse of both Towers, WTC 7 was only marginally structurally stable, and burning. FDNY did no further interior firefighting in Tower 7 because it was likely to collapse at any time, and the Department had already lost a significant number of suppression personnel, including almost all of FDNY's top echelon, in the Towers collapses. |

There’s also a fallacy that not talking about something makes it more mysterious. In reality, it’s the mysteries that get talked about because there is something to debate and legitimate experts who disagree. Open and shut cases don’t get discussed. |

I was there (as in literally down the block) when 7 fell. It was soaked with jet fuel and ot was so hot, your face got sunburned almost 2 blocks away. The Deutsche building was also expected to fall, but it didn't. |
