Seriously, they haven't [yet] learned the hard lesson the Republicans learned after the Goldwater debacle in 1964. The GOP realized they weren't going to win another Presidential election if they kept on keeping on. So they reformed and Nixon won in 1968 against a decent man (Humphrey) and again in 1972 because the Dems put up a man (McGovern) way out of the mainstream, even for the Viet Nam war era.Right now, what I hear from the Democrats and especially the Progressive wing is that they were beaten bloody because they weren't LEFTIST ENOUGH. This is part of the "losing is really winning" school. Keep thinking that way, Guys. Elizabeth Warren will be a shoo-in in two years, right? |

The 2 parties are like 2 restaurants. One restaurant is popular and everybody goes there while they pass up the other restaurant. After a while the popular restaurant gets sloppy, like maybe the tablecloths aren't clean or the service gets bad. So then people look at the 2nd restaurant and say "lets give them a try".
