Not only is that wrong, it's going to damage their futures.p..and yours....who's paying your Medicare and Social Security???Kids that think George Washington rode a dinosaur into Valley Forge do NOT grow into the positions that create, innovate and provide the economy with growth. As the largest consumer of English language k-12 textbooks, what goes in textbooks in Texas ends up national. You shitkickers have no right to enforce your ignorance on the entire nation. |

Not what I'm saying. The article stated scholars also noted taxation and segregation not just religion(besides history should never be edited out of history books religion has made impacts on the course of history both good and bad). I made analogy of slippery slope bc if they are allowed to make a couple small whitewashed edits here and there no big deal and it will bc easier to do the next edition and next thing u know a decade or 2 down the line they teaching students full blown propaganda. Hence slippery slope. I compared it to Germany bc of my slippery slope reference. 3rd reich gained power first the jews other were discriminated against in business practices and with no one no resistance from the german ppl and the slippery slope enabled the atrocities we all know happened in WWII. Propaganda and bs psuedo science fed to the ppl allowed these atrocities to happen. Knowledge is power and knowledge begins in school like i said slippery slope. |

We'll continue to enjoy our second best state GDP in the country. That's ahead of NY's rank, BTW.Harm our economy.....WABB! In 2013, Texas real GDP grew 3.7% and the 2003-2013 compound annual growth rate for Texas real GDP was 3.4%. In 2013, New York real GDP grew 0.7% (one-fifth of Texas) and the 2003-2013 compound annual growth rate for New York real GDP was 1.6% (less than half of Texas). You must feel proud being in the running with Dan for being so consistently wrong! So much for your high-falutin' "education." |

We'll continue to enjoy our second best state GDP in the country. That's ahead of NY's rank, BTW.Only because Texas is more populous. New York has a higher GDP per capita, which is the more useful metric. As for GDP growth rate, it is a fact that third world countries grow faster than developed countries. Make of that what you will. |

And a lot of Texas GDP and GDP growth is due to oil and gas. There is nothing inherently wrong with those products (environmental issues notwithstanding, we still need them), but it's not as though it's much that Texans have control over, and it tends to make the rich richer without really benefiting the middle class. Though the same could be said about NY's financial services industry. |

Actually, the greatest driver of economic growth in Texas is finance, insurance, real estate, rental, and leasing. This industry accounted for 13.5% of Texas GDP and had 3.4% real growth. The largest contributor to real GDP growth in Texas was nondurable goods manufacturing (goods consumed in a short time or that have useful lives of less than three years). |

DC has a huge amount of income earned by non-residents, so it's an aberration. If you take out that effect, why isn't GDP per capita a much better measure of a state's economic well-being than total GDP?
