Tribalism? Slavery? (well they did include that one)America was built on the principle of how can we all get rich? Think of the Homestead Act (there were actually several). Think of taxation such as import duties, ensuring domestic products would always be cheaper. Those are the kind of laws our founders came up with, ideas long since abandoned. Our founders were a bunch of Masons that wanted to get richer, and knew that (a concept completely lost on today's republicans and the financial industry) spreading the opportunity to get rich was how to get all to go along. This country's founding has NOTHING to do with modern BAC. Absolutely nothing. |

You'd better hope the law is based on Biblical principles, because aught else leads to tyranny. (Yes, even in the Vatican's case.) |

Both ... if we're going to have a party that instills religion in politics, then I'd prefer Sharia. :)Let's start with the historicals: http://billmoyers.com/content/timeline-the-religious-right-and-the-republican-platform/ Then let's mosey over to the TEXAS version of the platform: http://www.theocracywatch.org/texas_gop.htm The above link is currently broken, maybe Texas is trying to do their own Obamacare thingy. Therefore, I'll have to offer a google cache of the page since I'm sure they can do better than Obamacare bringing it back up and probably will be by the time you click. If not, here it is here: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:78kTIQ66j3sJ:www.theocracywatch.org/texas_gop.htm+&cd=4&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us And here's Christians congratulating themselves on the most recent GOP national platform: http://www.christianpost.com/news/how-are-christian-values-faring-in-gop-platform-80357/ So as a Christian, I'm sure you're OK with it all ... those who aren't do have their concerns about it ... |
