Could be. What's worse is that the politicians of both parties are "deep-throating" microphones, talking about how well things are going when the response in parts of New Jersey and New York is worse than the response to Katrina. I thinks that all the bums should be thrown out of office.

More like his anti-Katrina. This is being handled as well as is possible. It is to his, and those he appointed to FEMA and other government entities participating in storm recovery, credit.

This storm devastated a large densely populated area. That even half those who lost power have been restored already demonstrates how well this is being handled.

Upstate, in the area hardest hit by Irene a little over a year ago, much of the rebuilding isn't done yet.

Intrade is propped up by affluent liberals, most notably George Soros.

If you want a real feel for how this election is going, the early voting data out of IA, OH and FL is telling. GOP voters up, Dem voters down. In Florida, the # of additional GOP voters overall is equal to half of Obama's 2008 margin of victory. Election Day voting will overwhelmingly favor Romney. In 2008, McCain won the day in both FL and OH, but lost overall due to the early vote hole he was in.

Romney also drew nearly 30K people at an event in PA. And not the bitter clinger part. Bucks County, which leans Dem.

What you say is true, and I was listening to Sean Hannity ranting about it on the radio (I listen to WABC out here) But him was full of beans.

He kevthches about some generators going to where there were not needed (ie the since cancelled marathon), but him not understand generators not the problem... wet wires and down poles along with exploding transformers were the problem. I saw that big transformer blow up on TV, and I betcha there was not another one like it to be had within 500 miles.

LOL.....Willard isn't going to be sworn into anything, excluding perhaps another suspect baptism.

While you were in the dark, the President rose in the national polls,in the battleground states and GM and Chrysler put out ads stating in no uncertain terms that Willard was lying when they claimed that both automakers were going to offshore manufacturing jobs currently done in Ohio. The general consensus is that Willard's a liar about all manner of things, and the President will be re-elected. Plus his "let's eliminate FEMA" came out into the light.

The consensus in Nevada is that the President won that state already, given high early-voting turnout.

The point I was making is the FACT that it will take time to rebuild, more than a week, more than a month, more than a year. As it is we're seeing record whining from people down there.

It will take much longer if republican obstructionists refuse to allocate the money needed for infrastructure rebuilding.

You must be getting your news from a different internet because every report I've seen from the states you mention has the President up 2 to 1, 3 to 1 in early voting.

Fact is, republicans don't do early voting. They show upon election day.

It's easy to draw in any number of people to a rally when you bus them in from the bitter clinger parts. Plus there's the trainwreck aspect. That attracts them too.

The margin of victory is what you always gotta look at. It's the part that interests me most.

I see Florida still in play. There was a lawsuit filed by DNC yesterday to extend early voting here. It was extended in Orlando/Orange.

We started voting last Saturday and we were warned that the ballot is six pages long, so vote early or expect long lines.

I predicted that for Obama to win he has to hold onto Florida.

Why? Because between Jewish, Latino, and black voters they are 40% of the population. If Obama can't hold on to a state where three loyal voting blocs are 40% of population, I don't know how he'll hold on to mostly white swing states like Ohio, Virginia, NH and others. Not. The more we insist on living in areas vulnerable to flooding, the more these things are going to happen. And as we continue to burn and consume fuel willy-nilly, these things are going to happen more and more frequently. I don't see some of the parts of the South Shore bayfront here on Long Island ever being rebuilt. Makes no sense at all. Before too long, Montauk Highway will be bay front property.
