Amanda claims that her family left Brentwood for a bigger home in one of the Islips.I wasn't on the scene in the 1970s, so I really can't say for sure why they moved to one of the Islips. What I can say is that I am just not sure I will live in Brentwood today--but then, I don't really know Brentwood that well. Maybe the right way to say this is: at the right price, I will live anywhere, even East New York. But the price ain't right in E.N.Y., at least not the last time I looked (it wasn't much cheaper than Washington Heights.) Same can be said about Brentwood--last time I looked, it was not much cheaper than Bay Shore, and I'd definitely prefer Bay Shore to Brentwood. |
