Now if you want a really hairy stretch of old parkway try the Taconic Pkway in Putnam County between Rt 84 and a few miles south of the Pudding Street intersection, especially Southbound.It is very, very hairy and I have done that many times but it cannot be compared - - not in any stretch of the imagination - - to U.S. 202 Eastbound coming off the Bear Mountain Bridge into Westchester County. Just remember DO NOT BLINK after making that right turn after coming off the bridge, you are in the most hair raising downhill twisting experience in NY State. |
