The speed limit is only 45, so 55 is not that unrealistic, unless you mean the series of about 5 curves by the cemetery. Now there you are advised 25 -- from what I see the slowest tend to do 35, the faster ones 40. On the straighter parts, I can see how one easily reaches 65, and even more at night. But if you mean 65 on the curves, that's where my imagination fails me.Be warned, however -- plenty of danger at that curve under Queens Blvd that creeps up on people when the lanes are narrow. From the east there are flashing yellow lights surrounding a 25 MPH warning sign. The main danger is that the curve is trickier than it looks and you have no room for error -- you have to turn the wheel at an exact moment. |
