The speed limits in the northeast are much lower than out here. Our speed limits on freeways in metro LA are usually 65 mph. We have have 50 mph speed limits on some surface streets in Orange County. We generally drive much faster than you guys with more or less the same congestion. This is not necessarily a good thing though. We have among the highest pedestrian fatality rate in the country despite having sidewalks and crossing walks everywhere. |
