Rather logical on both counts, although the drug/cigarette connection is going the wrong way. We're only a few laws away now from tobacco being determined to be a narcotic, with punitive penalties to match. Perhaps alcohol might be a better comparison.As far as guns go, I don't possess any. However, living upstate I definitely see the point to having them and using them from time to time. Folks SHOULD be allowed to have allow the guns they want, some people just collect them and show them off, and most gun owners are highly responsible. The idea of regulating BULLETS makes a whole lot more sense than guns. Certain shotgun shells can be lightly regulated, but there's certainlhy no legitimate use for non-military use of hollow points and other high power shells. Those can certainly stand some taxing and dispensing based on a valid justification for their possession. Congrats, guy ... this idea might float and be worthy of some serious discussion! |
