It may be inconsistent with a free market but it's entirely consistent with a democratic government if that's what the People wantWhat people want it? Such is always imposed from without anyhow, so no democracy would vote it in, especially via direct democracy. The people (capitalization of "People" means a certain magazine) are more concerned with prosecuting criminal behavior in business. |
