I say McCain declines, so that his party doesn't lose its filibuster-proof majority. Currently, McCain, Snowe (Maine Republican repping a strong Democrat state), and Collins (same as Snowe) are the keys. If McCain is nominated, that leaves the Maine moderate Republicans as the keys to a filibuster for the Republicans, something that they do not want. |
