They were afraid of economic actions against them, curtailing their WalMart economy. Then along came the laissez-fairies who were more interested in Saddam and the chinese knew that regulating anything in this country was religious blasphemy, so they took advantage of the situation of nobody home here. :(The "clean air vehicle" was trashed by the republican congress as one of those "kooky Al Gore" things, and since gas was cheap at the time, nobody believed that gas would ever get expensive. Whoops. :) |
