My last contract at MN let us retire at 60 with full pension (RRT and MN pensions) if you had 30 years of service. When I turned 60 I had 38 years of service with full medical benefits until 65 when Medicare and AARP Medicare advantage plans kicked in. I was able to get a part time job for a few extra bucks and frankly give me something to do.
When youve been working all your life and suddenly stop, it could have an effect on your physical and mental health.
When you finally pull the pin, be prepared for some changes to say the least.
