Estimating crowd sizes for unticketed events is quite complicatedIt's quite easy. You know the venue's area and divide by approximately 5 sq-ft/person to get the crowd size. The subway crowding equivalent is 3.8 sq-ft/person for super crush loads. It's probably a bit more than 5 sq-ft because the police will provide "aisles" so that they can rush EMT's to somebody needing medical assistance in the crowd. Does anyone know where exactly in Crotona Park the rally took place? It's difficult to determine from the pictures. There are two areas that look suitable: the amphitheatre and the summer stage. The amphitheatre is about 250x200 for 50K-Ft or 10K people. The summer stage is about 150x100 for 3000 people. |
