What pisses me off is the latest Tesla “recall” that screams whenever I look away from the road while on autopilot. What the fuck is the point then?

That's because Tesla deliberately chose to give the feature the name "autopilot" when it isn't actually that. All it truly is is "help you to drive more safely while you are still actually driving" but that description doesn't have as much sizzle.
