"When I owned a car, for 5 years I drove 30 miles each way to work and parked on the street overnight. I would have needed easy availability of L2 chargers either on the streets near where I live or at the parking lot at work."This is solved on the West Coast and England and Europe. Pro-Tip, if you are on a public street, or parking lot, you'll likely want to stretch out your time. "Other than that, most of my driving was long trips. With gasoline, I could get 150 miles of range in about 5 minutes at a gas station. I would really want stations on the road to be 350 kW or so (which at 3 mi/kwhr is about 175 mi of range in 10 minutes)." I did a study on this, it takes longer than five minutes to fill a gas tank. The Chinese already have double the energy throughput than the 350kw you're throwing out there. And frankly, that's too quick, you cannot even take a leak in the amount of time your car is ready to move on. #2, have you ever woken up at a hotel, and your car is fully fueled up and ready to go? It's ****ing glorious. I've done trips where I charge (fill out) zero times. Or I've done a 600 miles for the cost of 23 bucks. |
