Weaver nests are an asset. They are a food source for various smaller, cat, monkey, baboon species.The nests also don't kill the trees

How do you know?

I've never known a human treehouse that ever killed a tree. Not even badly-constructed ones.

Weaver birds obviously don't want to fall prey to "nature". So they shield themselves from it.
