We're discussing fraud, which is a crime.Double voting certainly does happen and officials certainly do know about it. That's why they have a procedure for counting such ballots provisionally. It's just difficult to prove whether it's fraud and as I mentioned it rarely impacts elections, even at the local level. Double voting could be inadvertent. I still wonder if it might impact local elections with everyone now getting paper ballots whether they asked for them or not. Other types of fraud where people with good intentions fill out ballots for parents with dementia or someone with an illness I suspect are even more common. |
