Your last sentence is a great argument for a national popular vote. Do Republicans in New York or Democrats in Idaho feel like their voices count when it is a foregone conclusion that their preferred candidate will lose the state’s electoral votes? The EC does not give the 50 states a somewhat equal voice because every state has a minimum of 3 electors regardless of population. |
