the EC indeed garauntees that all regions in the fifty states will get a somewhat equal voice. it's indicative of a not-too-if-at-all well thought out pov to state "ahhh, but the cities have more a larger population and hence, should have more say in the electoral process".

mob rule is NOT the american way. we live in a democratic republic. the presence of the EC in the voting process is the way to make ALL americans feel their voices count. it's an excellent check against mob rule.
