I will quote to you one of my esteemed law professors about the value if saying "if".

"We can 'what if' our way to la-la land but at the end of the day we have to deal with the facts."

Right now, Trump is President and Omar is a Congressperson and we have to deal with the protections, fair or unfair, they receive as a result.
