I take into condideration what the forefathers intended at the time. My PERSONAL take is that they meant the European colonialists, who were the newly minted Americans, and nobone else. Their World and Society at the time just comsisted of Europeans, everyone else was either 3/5 a person or a savage. Not saying I agree with it, but when they said "persons" back then, they didn't mean border jumpers. |
