I’m not saying that global warming isn’t real or that it isn’t man-made but I acknowledge that belief in global warming is just that - a belief. We have to trust that the people trained in those fields of science that are smart enough to get it right, in fact got it right because we’re not qualified to make an objective, scientific determination on our own. We can read somebody else’s work and see that it makes sense and see that hundreds of other qualified people agree, but that’s all we got.When you and I were younger there was scientific consensus that we were entering a new ice age. Those smart people got it wrong. It can happen. And that “97% of scientists” stuff is meaningless propaganda. It sounds like a made up number and even if it’s not most “scientists” aren’t much if anymore qualified than we are in this subject. We’d really only care about the scientists in specific fields. |
