In the case of Chris though, he was using the adjective "loony" to describe a specific subset of the left, specifically the extreme left. Just using "left" implies that all left-wingers would agree, which is a view that Chris has disavowed in this thread.Thus, his seemingly more incendiary "loony left" is much more conciliatory than the OP's "Seattle liberal." |
