That's a loaded statement, which is why I like CNBC World better.

To cut our reliance on MIDDLE EAST oil, versus all foreign(russia and canada, etc), all you have to do is kick the SUV's off the road, or give them 10 more mpg's.

Some reason they won't. But the changes aren't that drastic.

In the UK they came up with a positive for the ethanol. Besides all the goodness in teh cars, no nuts with nukes, global termoil, self-reliance, lower pollution, the ethanol crops(oranges, sugar, corn, coconuts) would soak up the rest of the CO2 and pollution on that end too.
So the production is cleaner.

*Meaning instead of the U.S. requiring on foreign countries for oil, we'd be requiring them for food.*

Thanks to a certain president selling us out in his tariff policies, Brazil is going to be supplying us all our crops soon anyway. May as well keep some of the factory farms for transport.
