If the U.S. and the Shah did it right and the government if Iran was a true Western Democracy then it wouldn't have bred the hatred that allowed the Ayotollah and Radical Islam to become as powerful as it wasThat's conjecture. The United Kingdom is not a western democracy but is yet rather peaceful (excepting Northern Ireland, but neither Unionist nor Nationalist factions are imperialistic). Citing the Shah as the sole factor in provoking radical Islam is certainly specious—it certainly does not offer an explanation for the imperialistic aims of Iran, nor does it take into account the external radical Islamic elements outside Iran (e.g. those that Israel have been up against historically). |
