As for Rachel Dolezal, if you REALLY want to split hairs, it is an evolutionary FACT that every person walking the Earth today, has African ancestry. Everyone now living, is descended down from humans who walked out of Africa to populate the globe, many millennia ago.

Race is something people created, to describe the adaptations our ancestors made when they encountered environments that were radically different from those of Africa, which caused the appearance of the world's peoples to change dramatically.

Race is also a way for people to satisfy their psychological need to feel better than other groups of people, and to justify sometimes abhorrent behavior towards them.
