Is it right for people to leech off of the taxpayers, when they SHOULD be doing the ADULT, responsible thing and finding gainful employment?

The people who realistically could find gainful employment but choose not to because they want to live on welfare comprise a very very small percentage of the population, and most of them are actually rich people— the Waltons spring to mind.
