Why are you commenting on it if you didn't see the video then?A govt official is allowed to believe in a religion, and is allowed to make judgements based on his beliefs. If I understand it correctly, the line that must not be crossed is using your govt position to force other people to follow your more religious beliefs. You are correct. Yet the hypocricy comes in when the same people (like you) defending this, are the ones that scream the loudest (not necessarily you), when some idiot politician on the right does the same thing. And is Kerry actually trying to make creation myth in Genesis the official govt position? In a public speech, on duty as a government official (a high ranking one at that), he says that he is given a personal responsibility, mandated by God, which is clearly stated in the Book of Genesis. Take it as you will. |
