Okay....so you posted a link about Virginia's surplus....then caught the mistake.I'm not sure it was a mistake. I think it was a bait and switch of sorts— offer a link to an article in a respectable source which is irrelevant due to being about a completely different topic, then swap it for an article which is on the correct topic but made irrelevant by being bullshit from a right wing extremist propaganda outlet, and hope we'd inadvertently combine the message of the second link with the respectability of the first. It's a little bit like the mortgage scammers who duped the entire finance industry by selling packages containing 5% legitimate mortgages that would likely be paid off and 95% million-dollar mortgages to junkies that would be defaulted within a few years and using the legitimacy of the former to mask the stench of the latter in a manner so slipshod that it wouldn't fool anyone except the bank CEOs that mtk52983 thinks deserve multi-million dollar salaries for their "success." Lose a few unwanted military pork projects and spend the money on vets. Like the wars? Can we lose the wars? Better yet, let's recover as much of the money already spent on the wars as we can by forcing arms dealers and military contractors who profited from the war to reimburse the government for it. Time to meet the existing obligations for once, redboys. What? But that's the Democrats' job! That's how it works— Republicans get elected, Republicans make a giant mess, Democrats point to the mess and get elected, then the Republicans point to the mess and declare the Democrats haven't cleaned it up fast enough or effectively enough so they should be put back in office. It works really well, though the strategy might be less effective if the Democrats actually made even a cursory effort to try cleaning up the mess. |
