So the entire basis of your claim that my post was "offensive" was a simple misunderstanding over the word "celebrate."To me, "celebrate" means "mark the occasion of, generally with enjoyable activities." What does it mean to you? They simply eat Chinese food on Christmas Day, but they would never say they are celebrating Christmas. I would. Plenty of people I know would too. And plenty of atheists celebrate Christmas with trees, presents, Christmas dinners, and essentially everything normally associated with quasi-traditional Christmas celebrations except the nonsense about some baby whose mother was described using a word for "young" that got mistranslated as "virgin." |
