Crazy and frightening scenario: Iran has the plane, and either killed or locked up all the passengers and crew. They remove all the seats, and, having secretly built, stolen, or purchased a working nuclear bomb, place it on the aircraft, fuel it up, and fly it off to some nearby target, like an Israeli city.

Highly unlikely, but dreaming up sick shit like that is what we writers do...
