I said that Eisenhower had sympathies for the railroad since it was HIS Army that wore out their rails and equipment and he knew it.What I *did* say is that he had different plans for what turned out to be the Gore plan for construction of the interstates. HIS interest in it was largely military, not benefiting General Motors. |
