The Air France flight from Rio to Paris disappeared from the radar without a mayday call.

AA 587 was of course fully visible but it crashed totally without an obvious explanation at the time.

TWA 800 blew up with no warning.

So it does happen for reasons other than terrorism. But still, it certainly could be a bomb.
