Are you aware how much a pension of 50% of pay at age 45 costs?I'm not saying it's necessarily bad public policy to give that to cops and firemen, because we need people who can do the job. But the public needs to recognize that it adds a huge chunk onto their pay, and they are paying for it. Like maybe another 8 years of pay. |
