The $2000 high rent exemption has been recently RAISED to $2500. (So all expects a landlord to spend at least $75,000 on an apartment just to get it out of rent stabilization (remember, you only get $25 for every $1000 spent).Also, SMAZ's notion that you can "make it owner occupied", or "family occupied" for 6 months is also far off base. It's actually 4 YEARS, and only if the rent would have been more than $2500. That's enough time for that ALSO not to be a viable option. http://www.nyshcr.org/rent/faqs.htm#hrvd2 |
